Moorend is set on a beautiful private estate very much in the heart of Scotland. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and Perth are all within easy reach and on the doorstep are the Trossachs.
Sometimes described as the Highlands in miniature, this fabulous landscape of lochs, forest and hills surrounds the house. This cosy home from home is within stunning and sheltered countryside of ever changing scenery and colour.
Accommodation
The accommodation is all on one level in this single storey semi-detached cottage. All the fixtures and fittings are to a very high standard and the cottage is extremely well appointed. The traditional fitted kitchen is complete with and Aga cooker (plus conventional cooker) and the living room enjoys an open fire.
There are three bedrooms, 1 double and the other two twins. There is a luxury bathroom with a separate shower room and the convenience of a large utility room.
The cottage looks out over a mature garden with an ornamental pond with views over woodland and open hill. The estate has an open access policy and cottage guests are welcome to explore the many paths and tracks.

Local Area
The popular town of Callander is only 6 miles away and has so much to offer. Stirling, 22 miles, has all the shops and services of a major town as well as an historic and dramatic castle and the Wallace Monument. There is a great golf course at Drymen only 20 miles away but if golf is your passion there are a whole host of courses to choose from in the surrounding area and if you wanted to travel further a field there are the famous Championship courses of Gleneagles and St Andrews.
There is loch fishing available on the estate, wonderful opportunities for bird watching and loch swimming if you fancy it: also plenty of walking and the chance to totally relax - an in-house speciality! This is an idyllic place to stay in the Trossachs and Loch Lomond National Park - one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland.

Directions
To reach Moorend follow the M8 from either Glasgow or Edinburgh and take the M80/A80 to Stirling. Take the northbound M9 and exit at junction 10 Stirling. Take the A84 west to Callander. In Callander town centre there is a cross roads managed by traffic lights. Take the left turn on the A81 road to Aberfoyle (also sign posted Glasgow). Follow this road over the River Teith bridge until you come to the first roundabout. Take the right hand turn onto the minor road and follow this for 3 miles until you reach the east end of Loch Venacher. Follow the lochside Estate road until you arrive at Invertrossachs Estate east lodge gate (pillars with pineapples on top). Follow this surfaced road for approximately 3 miles. When you reach the original Invertrossachs House on your right the road turns sharply to your left - continue along for a further 300 yards and Moorend Cottage is facing you on your left. NB There are gates on the drive that state "no access to non residents" - please ignore these and carry on.

Moorend is available for week lets and short breaks.
The preferred change over day is a Saturday however there is flexibility dependant on availability.
