Strathyre from Ben Sithean
.
The Rosebank House was built in 1872 as a small hotel and retains many original features with a sprinkling of Victorian elegance. There is a large attractive garden with stunning views and a back gate leading to the tennis court and picnic area, from which you can explore the burns and glades and perhaps walk a little further on to the Kings House Hotel at Balquhidder. All bedrooms have attractive views of either our garden or the surrounding countryside.
The house has been completely refurbished retaining original features whilst offering 21st century facilities and comfort. You can relax in our garden, summer house, conservatory or guest lounge. The lounge has a TV/DVD player, XBOX, books, maps and a selection of board games.

The Garden room has a new en suite bathroom and offers a king-size bed. There is extensive wardrobe space, towelling robe, tea and coffee making facilities, radio alarm clock and other small items to help make your stay a pleasant one. A peaceful room, it has views onto the garden and the hills beyond.
The Rose Room
A twin room with towelling robe, tea and coffee making facilities, radio alarm clock and a few steps away from its own private bathroom. This is a bright and sunny room with a pleasant atmosphere, well liked by guests with views over the garden. It is located close to the large and comfortable lounge.
The Forest Suite
A self-contained suite of two bedrooms and a well-appointed new bathroom accessed from a small lobby within the suite. The larger bedroom, which has recently been completely refurbished, contains a king-size double and a single bed and is equipped with towelling robe, flat screen TV/DVD player, tea and coffee making facilities. The smaller room contains a double bed. Both bedrooms are very quiet and enjoy attractive views of the garden and distant hills.
The Forest Suite accommodates groups of between two and five people. Pricing is on a 'per person' basis and we are happy to let the suite as a twin, a double or 2 singles when required.
The Mountain RoomStrathyre and the surrounding area is rich in bird and wildlife, supported by a mixed flora of plants. Tracts of native woodland mingle with the commercially planted forestry making spring and autumn very colorful seasons.
Following the valley bottom is the course of the old railway, closed in 1965, it now forms part of Route 7 Cycle way which leads all the way to Fort William. Following the route through Strathyre to Callander you can look out for Mute Swans, Cormorants, Black Throated Divers, many ducks including Goldeneye, Merganser and Mallard. If you are very lucky at dawn or dusk you may catch a glimpse of Otters. From Rosebank we have watched Kingfishers, Woodpeckers, Green and Great-Spotted, Great, Blue, Coal and Long Tailed Tits, a wide range of Finches, Siskins, Treecreepers, Buzzards and many, many more.
For the serious walkers, the sixteen Munros and many Corbetts, Grahams and Donalds in the area await you. For easier access to some of the one-way walks we can transport you to or pick you up from your route if required.
Kayaking hire and instruction is available in the village also cycle hire .
Rosebank House is fully double-glazed and centrally heated and offers a warm welcome from December through to March.
The winter days may be short but we usually enjoy some wonderful crisp, clear days with snow on the peaks; these can be appreciated from the comfort of our conservatory and lounge or whilst enjoying one of the excellent walks in the area.
