Location
Callander is the gateway to the world famous Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Coilhallan Wood Walk and Ben Gullipen Hill Walk start within 200m of Castle Grove.
The wonderful central location, only 11 miles from the motorway, Callander is the perfect base for day trips: Loch Lomond (31 miles), Stirling (16 miles), Oban (71 miles), Edinburgh (50 miles) and Glasgow (42 miles).

Loch Lomond and The Trossachs are internationally recognised as forming one of the most beautiful and romantic places in the world, and there is something for everyone here:
- Walking:
- To suit all, high or low level, long or short, easy or strenuous: Queen Elizabeth Forest, Country Parks, Nature Reserves. Many sections of the West Highland Way are easily reached. ‘Easy’ hills such as Ben A'an to more difficult such as Ben Vorlich.
- Golf:
- Championship courses at Gleneagles and Loch Lomond, and many smaller local courses, at Callander, Stirling, Aberfoyle, Killin
- Cycling:
- The Apartment has a secure garage to store bikes, or they can be hired in Callander (we can arrange this prior to your arrival). The area boasts some very good routes, for example, Callander to Strathyre Railway Route, a 14 mile round trip, easy and level SUSTRANS7.
- Riding:
- Pony trekking, horse riding and trail riding all available at nearby Port of Menteith
- Fishing:
- Salmon, Trout and Pike fishing in various surrounding rivers, lochs and fisheries.
- Picnics:
- The ideal place for picnics, the Trossachs area provides endless possibilities. The Apartment is equipped with a picnic hamper and portable BBQ
- Rainy Days:
- Sometimes it does rain….. We have a great selection of books relevant to the area, board games and dvds.
