Brig o' Turk B & B
and Self Catering Accommodation Frennich House in The Trossachs, Scotland
|
|
Location in the TrossachsFrennich House is located ½ mile from the Callander - Trossachs road (A821) and on the way to the Glen Finglas reservoir.
Glen Finglas was once the favourite hunting ground of the Stewart Kings of Scotland and now holds a Loch formed by the Glen Finglas Reservoir - a fine place to walk to from the house just a 30 minute stroll before breakfast or after dinner at one of the two restaurants in the village.
ActivitiesThe River Turk bounds our garden and we have fishing rights. You are welcome to try your luck- (we can lend you a rod) but we cant promise any more than a tiny trout. More lucrative fishing is available in many of the rivers and lochs within easy travel distance subject to obtaining permits. Most of our visitors come to enjoy the many and varied walks and climbs in the Trossachs at the heart of Scotlands first National Park. There are also a number of interesting off-road cycle routes in the area and we can offer safe garaging for your bikes. A very popular activity is to take your bikes on board the steamship Sir Walter Scott to the head of Loch Katrine and cycle back the 14 miles to the pier. We are
well situated for touring the surrounding area. Historic Stirling, Scotlands newest city, is a mere half hours drive away. Perth, Glasgow and Edinburgh are all within a 1 hour drive of Frennich House. We can offer advice on day trips by car for example: Balquhidder (Rob Roys grave ) Killin (Falls of Dochart) Ben Lawers mountain centre, Loch Tay (the Crannog Centre, Aberfeldy , Glenturret (Scotlands oldest whisky distillery) at Crieff, and home in ample time for dinner.
