The area around the Lake of Menteith is steeped in history, and is a fascinating location to visit. Rob Roy and William Wallace both made theid contributions to our colourful history around this area. Mary Queen of Scots spent her infancy hidden in the Priory on the biggest island on the lake, Inchmaholme. The Priory is open to the public and can be visited using the island ferry service.
The area is the ideal habitat for wildlife which abounds, as we live in an
area of preserved natural beauty. There are many birds of prey to spot. Mallard ducks on
the lake provide us with much entertainment!
We also have fishing, mountain bikes, rowing, tennis, a games room and an outdoor play
area if more entertainment is required!
Aberfoyle and Callander with their interesting shops, restaurants and pubs are our nearest villages, and Stirling with its castle, is a 25-minute drive away. Glasgow and Edinburgh are both an hour's drive away from the Lake of Menteith.
