Callander Rambling Club
About the Club
The Club consists of a group of enthusiasts who meet regularly throughout the year to
participate in a program. of strolls and rambles in
this wonderfully scenic and interesting area.
Non-members and visitors are always welcome and may find that the walks provide
increased interest as local people have a wealth of knowledge of the area - history,
wildlife, geography and geology to mention but a few topics.
- Car sharing and transport, contact Leader to arrange a seat.
- There is a charge for this transport service but no Leader fee.
The Callander Ramblers programme offers four types of walk.
- Stroll - Relatively easy, mainly level and on country lanes, tracks or good paths.
Strolls are on Wednesdays at 9:30 am.
- Ramble - Longer walks, mainly on tracks or paths, often cross-country or with some
gradients. Rambles are usually on Wednesdays at 9:30 am. (occasionally Saturdays at
8:30am).
- Hill - Ascent to a summit, mainly on paths. Lower hills in winter, higher in summer.

- Long Distance Path (LDP) - Similar difficulty to a Ramble.
Saturdays at 8:30am
All walks start from Ancaster Square.
Come prepared with suitable clothing, footwear and a packed lunch.
Weather conditions may occasionally cause a planned walk to be cancelled, postponed, or
replaced by an easier one.
Please phone the walk leader if the forecast is poor.
Callander Rambling Club have the following outings arranged for 2010/11. There is
no leader fee.
Visitors are welcome and although you may not know anyone at the outset you will have made
new friends by its end.
The 2010/11syllabus is reproduced below. Visitors are welcome to
join us on any of the walks.
