Rosebank HouseThe house was built in the 1800's as a small hotel and retains many original features with a sprinkling of Victorian elegance. There is a pleasant garden, which leads from the back gate to the tennis court and picnic area, and on to explore the burns and glades and perhaps walk a little further on to the Kingshouse Hotel at Balquidder.
The RoomsThe Garden Room The Garden room has the benefit of a king-size bed, with electric blanket. A shower and wash hand basin, extensive wardrobe space and a separate toilet, tea and coffee making facilities, radio alarm clock, toweling robe and other small items to help make your stay a pleasant one. A peaceful room, it has views onto the garden, and Ben Vorlich beyond (a Munro). The Rose Room A double room with electric blanket, tea and coffee making facilities wash hand basin, toweling robe, radio alarm clock and a few steps to the bathroom, located one door away and on the same floor as the large and comfortable lounge. This is a bright and sunny room with a pleasant atmosphere, well liked by guests. The Forest Room This is a family room comprising of double and single beds, a large room which can also accommodate a cot, with electric blanket, toweling robe, wash hand basin, tea and coffee making facilities, and TV with interconnecting large bathroom and toilet. This is a comfortable room with space to relax with views of the forest on Ben Vorlich. The Mountain Room This room is a twin room with electric blankets, toweling robe, tea and coffee facilities, wash hand basin, with the bathroom next door and the lounge one door away. This room looks out over Ben Sheann with spectacular views of the mountain and is a room regularly requested by visitors The Surroundings in StrathyreStrathyre and the surrounding area is rich in bird and wildlife, supported by a mixed flora of plants. Tracts of native woodland mingle with the commercially planted forestry making spring and autumn very colorful seasons. Following the valley bottom is the course of the old railway, closed in 1965, it now forms part of Route 7 Cycle way which leads all the way to Fort William. Following the route through Strathyre to Callander you can look out for Mute Swans, Cormorants, Black Throated Divers, many ducks including Goldeneye, Merganser and Mallard. If you are very lucky at dawn or dusk you may catch a glimpse of Otters. From Rosebank we have watched Kingfishers, Woodpeckers, Green and Great-Spotted, Great, Blue, Coal and Long Tailed Tits, a wide range of Finches, Siskins, Treecreepers, Buzzards and many, many more. Walking & Hill WalkingFor the serious walkers, the sixteen Munros and many Corbetts, Grahams and Donalds in
the area await you. For easier access to some of the one-way walks we can transport you to
or pick you up from your route if required.
