The Scottish Tourism Site
Where to find Scottish Tourist Information in Scotland .
TIC Centres in the Scottish National Park are an essential tool to the visitor planning a holiday in Scotland. Unless you are familiar with an area as large as the Scottish National Park you will waste a lot of time just finding your way around and looking for things to do and places to visit. I have had the pleasure of being retired in Callander, the eastern gateway to the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, for the past seven years and I worked all around this area for a period of some fifteen years prior to that. I feel that I now know a fair bit about this part of the country and would like to pass on some of this local knowledge.
If you need to talk to someone in one of the Tourist Information Centres in Scotland I have listed the main information centres in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park area later on this page.
If you want first hand tourist information, based on travels around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, use the links above or my tourist information active map of Loch Lomond, The Trossachs and the National Park in Scotland.
You will find a unique resource of audio guide downloads at http://www.discoveryaudioguides.com
I hope to to tell you about things that are free, and sometimes better than the commercial events and locations.
Use the Tourist Information Centres when you visit Scotland to arrange your Trossachs and Loch Lomond accommodation, to get travel information, and to get a collection of glossy hand-outs, but remember that most places in Scotland offer much more than the centres can or will tell you about.
First hand experience from someone who has been to an area is often the best guide, and of course don't forget the web sites - like this and many others which offer useful local knowledge and information.
The Scottish Tourist Information and Visitor Centres in the National Park, operated by the Argyll, The Isles, Loch Lomond, Stirling and Trossachs Tourist Board, are located in The National Park area as follows.
If planning to visit a particular centre from September to April, phone first as not all centres open all year round.
