This year Tarmachan Mountaineering have several walking holidays in the wonderful Sierra Nevada Mountains of Spain. Still relitively unknown, the area is Spains' largest National Park. There are 15 summits over 3000m and the area is unique for it's wildlife and flowers. Most days we won't see many people out walking. We are based in the beautiful white washed villages of Trevelez and Capileira which are the two highest villages in Spain. All hotels are to a high standard and we eat out in restaurants sampling the excellent food ( and wine!). Part of the week we stay in the superb mountain refuge ' Poqueira' which as comfortable accomodation and great food. The refugio is at 2500m and ideally placed for reaching the high peaks. The area enjoys a wonderful sunny and warm climate with over 300 sunshine days per year.

All holidays include flights, transfers, accomodation and all meals plus guided walking by a fully qualified and experienced International Mountain Leader.  There are no 'hidden extras'. Please contact us for more details and full itinarary.

SNOWSHOEING IN THE SIERRA NEVADA

What is snowshoeing? It's one of the fastest growing winter activities in Europe. It's a fun way of walking in deep snow easily, without the need for skiing. No experience is required as the first 2 days we go through fitting and techniques.

Our holiday is based in the La Alpajurra region of The Sierra Nevada National Park. The highlight of the trek is reaching the summit of Muhlacen (3481m) which is the highest peak on the Spanish mainland. We will be based 4 nights in hotels and 3 nights in a comfortable mountain refuge.

TREKKING IN SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS

7 Nights holiday in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains of Spain. Based in very comfortable hotels and 3 nights in a superb mountain refuge. We will be walking to peaks which reach over 3000m and will hopefully ascend the 3 highest peaks in the area, our base being at 2500m in the mountain refuge.
