Tom na Voil is a very comfortable cottage converted from a 150 year old stone building on the Carnegie Estate in Balquhidder. It sleeps 6/8 persons

With three bedrooms and three bathrooms, the house will comfortably accommodate 6 people. (Two roll-out beds can be used to sleep a further 2) Two leather sofas in the living room can sleep two . The living room also has leather sofas, TV/DVD player and wood burning stove.
The eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. There is a comfortable table with a bench and chairs.
The master bedroom has a superking bed and luxury ensuite bathroom with walk in shower and oversized bath. The second bedroom with superking bed is also ensuite and has a bath with shower over, and there is a family bathroom with bath and shower over. (Both superking beds can be separated into twin beds).
The third bedroom has twin three-foot beds (with 2 roll-out 3-foot guest beds). All three bedrooms are furnished with oak chests and wardrobes.
It has been recently extended and is surrounded by beautiful landscape in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
The cottage is furnished to a high standard in a contemporary style with Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels and hypo-allergenic pillows and duvets. Oil central heating is included in the price - the kitchen, living room and hall have radiators and the rest of the house, which is oak, floored or tiled, has under floor heating.
Balquhidder lies on the No.7 cycle path and is surrounded by magnificent countryside. As well as gentle walks nearby, it is also close to several Munroes – including Ben More, Ben Vorlich and Ben Lawers - offering exceptional hill-walking on the doorstep. From the house, you can see red squirrels, tree creepers and deer. Fishing is available locally in Loch Voil and the River Balvaig and bikes can be hired in Strathyre or Callander.
The location is extremely peaceful and a particular feature is the lack of any light pollution at night, giving amazing starry skies. For rainy days or quiet evenings in, the owners have made available a collection of games and puzzles as well as a selection of fiction and non-fiction books, including books on Scotland and wildlife.
On arrival, visitors will find a welcome pack of basic groceries and samples of local produce.
Although Tom na Voil is the owners' holiday home, they are keen that it should also contribute to the local economy and visitors are encouraged to buy local produce.
There is ample drying space for wet clothes after a day on the hills.
About 50yds from the front door is a footpath over a stile, which leads up through a beech wood to the forestry paths in the Kirkton Glen.
Tom na Voil is elevated above the hamlet of Balquhidder close to the old church where Rob Roy MacGregor, his wife and sons take their final rest in the churchyard. There are wonderful views over the Balquhidder glen to Glen Buckie and to Loch Voil and the mountains beyond.
