Trossachs Backpackers Hostel in Perthshire, Scotland

Trossachs Backpackers Hostel has been purpose-built on its own 8-acre site, set amidst beautiful scenery just outside the bustling tourist town of Callander, Perthshire, Scotland.

The 30-bed Scottish Hostel, which is the only one in the Trossachs area, opened in August 1997 and is finished to a very high standard - hence its nickname "Poshtel"!

The rooms are all ensuite and are either 8 -bedded with 3 toilets and 2 showers in each room, 4 - bedded family rooms which have a shower room and their own private kitchen/dining facilities, or small single rooms with their own toilet and wash hand basin. There is a spacious Dining/Common Room, a well equipped kitchen, a laundry and a drying room.

A large Meeting/Recreation Room is also available and may be booked separately for conferences, parties, etc. We have an on-site Cycling Centre with a huge range of bicycles and accessories for sale.
Basic provisions, sweets, crisps and hot and cold beverages are also available.

What Activities?

Visitors are spoilt for choice of things to do. Most take bikes and explore the fantastic Cycle Routes which are available on our doorstep, but for those who prefer not to cycle, many other activities are available locally. These include Hill-walking amongst the many Bens and Glens in the area, Golf on one of the local courses, a sail on the steamship S.S. Walter Scott on Loch Katrine, Canoe Hire/Instruction on Loch Lubnaig, Land Rover treks in the Queen Elizabeth Forest or Glen Finglas, Fishing, Sailing and much, much more. Even on rainy days there are indoor attractions locally, including the excellent McLaren Leisure Centre in Callander.
