Fishing, watersport, cycling, walking or Golf, the Trossachs is a great place to be for those who are interested in the more energetic things in life, and Callander is a great place to start. The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park is an area where the scenery is at it's best when cycling or walking. Some parts have a atmosphere of quiet and beauty; others a wild ruggedness. Every part of the Trossachs has something to offer. Whether you are very fit and energetic or just moderately lazy like the rest of us there is something to suit you in this beautiful area.
Don't forget to be suitably dressed for Scottish weather.
Level or lumpy, flat or bumpy, walking and Hillwalking the Trossachs is the natural thing to do. There is such a wide variety of options that even the most demanding walkers will find something to meet their needs. Take a look at the 'walking' page for a selection of recommended walks.
Try the Callander Ramblers for company if you don't know the area
Mountain biking and cycling in The Trossachs is by far the best way of seeing the area. Apart from main road cycling, which is not much fun, there is a variety of cycle routes here to satisfy most tastes. For starters, there is the recently completed cycleway formed by the track bed of the old Dunblane to Oban railway, now complete from Callander to Glen Dochart. There are gentle forest routes and arduous mountain tracks. See the 'cycling' page for more details.

Fishing is not one of my great interests although I used to to a bit of trout fishing as a teenager. That said, I do know enough about the sport to tell you that with such a variety of lochs and rivers in the area, most anglers will find some very rewarding waters around the Trossachs. See the 'fishing' page for information.
When you live in the Trossachs, you very quickly realise that one thing we are not short of is water. In fact within about 15 miles of Callander there are 11 lochs and 5 main rivers, all of which offer some kind of watersport. Visit the 'watersports' page for some examples.
