The House

Enjoy the elegant comfort of this lovingly restored Victorian home. The house is on the western outskirts of Callander facing the Callander Crags to the North and the Callander Meadows with the River Teith  and Ben Gullipen to the south. Our stylish ensuite rooms offer the perfect haven to relax and unwind with immediate access to wonderful walking , cycling and touring opportunities within Scotland’s first National Park.

Take a stroll through our large riverbank garden or simply relax on the terrace and appreciate the birdsong.

To the South is the tranquil river Teith with its riverside walks whilst to the   north are the famous Callander Crags clothed in trees.

Westerton’s spacious rooms offer stylish accommodation echoing the elegance of the Victorian period.

The Blue Room

Westerton’s premier room with king size brass bed and large ensuite bathroom. The bay window has a beautiful garden view sweeping down to the River Leny with Ben Gullipen in the distance. A perfect retreat for a special break.

The Green Room

An elegant room which retains many fine period features, with a king size brass bed and ensuite shower room.
There are scenic views of Callander Crags and Ben Ledi to the West.

A beautiful room with a king size brass bed and spacious ensuite bathroom.
There are views over the garden down to the river Leny with Ben Gullipen in the distance

Breakfast at Westerton.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the elegant breakfast room.

We offer plenty of healthy options - fresh fruit salad , home made yoghurt, cereals, fruit juices, bagels in addition to the traditional Scottish breakfast, with vegetarian option or indulge in the house speciality of scrambled egg with smoked Scottish salmon.

Special diets can be catered for by prior arrangement.

Activities.

Westerton is located at the quiet west end of Callander, within a five minute stroll of the town centre with its many shops, restaurants and bars, but with immediate access to walking and cycling tracks.

To the rear of Westerton are the Callander Crags, an enchanting wooded hill with many interesting walks.

The steep ascent is worth the effort as on a clear day you can see Edinburgh in the distance. An excellent Cycleway and walking track crosses the River Leny at the bottom of the garden aand stretches past the Falls of Leny, Loch Lubnaig and onto Strathyre(approx 7 miles) , for the energetic it continues for a further 6 miles onto Balquidder.

Westerton is an ideal base for a hillwalking holiday.

Ben Ledi, Ben A'an, Ben Gullipen, Ben Venue, Ben Vorlich and Stuc a Chroin are all within a 30 minute drive. Further afield are Ben Lomond, Ben Lawers and spectacular Glencoe, but all  within an hours drive.

Drying room facilities are available

There are many memorable scenic routes to explore by car, particularly the Dukes Pass drive through the Trossachs aand routes passsing Loch Lubnaig,Loch Venachar, Loch Voil, Loch Earn, Loch Katrine, Loch Lomond and Scotland’s only lake, The Lake of Menteith.

Westerton has immediate access onto the A84 and travelling east the historic city of Stirling is within a 20 minute drive, Edinburgh can be reached with one hour. Travel west and visit the seaside resort of Oban, "Gateway to The Isles".

Westerton has ample off-road private parking with secure storage available for bicycles and motorcycles.

Golf, pony trecking and fishing are also available in the locality.

Westerton is a non-smoking establishment.

Autumn  & Spring Special Offer - Special Rate for 3 night stays at Westerton:

• 3 night stay in the Blue Room: £100 per person (additional nights £37.50 per person, per night)

• 3 night stay in the Green or Gold Room: £85 per person (additional nights £32.50 per person, per night)

• Offer valid from 16 October 2006 to 30 November 2006 and 1st February 2007 to 30 April 2007
  (Excludes Easter 6,7 & 8 April 2007)

Prices are per person for a 3 night stay at Westerton, based on 2 people sharing a room, and include full Scottish breakfast.

To Find Us

From Stirling, take the A84 (Callander and Crianlarich), pass through Doune and enter Callander. Continue through Callander and pass the Dreadnought hotel on the right. Continue along Leny Road, past the pedestrian crossing lights and watch for Westerton and our sign on the left shortly thereafter.

From the north, enter Callander on the A84 and opposite the second road on your left, look for our sign on the right.
